Up for sale is a Longines Gilt Brass 36 hour “Marine Chronometer” Table Clock. The clock rests in a wooden square box, which is accompanied by two keys for opening. The stamped white dial features black Roman numerals, black dauphine hands, a 36 hour chronometer, and a seconds register. Circular, gilt brass case measures 91 mm in diameter. Gilt brass stem atop the 12 o’clock position winds in order to set time. Mechanical movement with power reserve. Movement no. 6403052. Because these clocks were originally created for being on board vessels, the gimbal feature accommodates for buoyancy, thus allowing the clock to keep perfect time. Box measures 6 in x 4.25 in.
