Up for sale is a Louis Audemars, made for Breguet. A fine and rare 18K pink gold hunter case Minute repeating perpetual calendar keyless lever watch with moon phases, made for the Turkish Market Signed Louis Audemars, No. 12’144, and Breguet, No. 3938, manufactured in 1881, sold to Breguet and sold by Breguet to Messr Mir & Cottereau in Istanbul on 29 December 1885 Gilt-finished fully jeweled lever movement, bimetallic compensation balance, minute repeating on two hammers onto two gongs, gold cuvette, white enamel dial, Roman numerals, outer Arabic five minute divisions, gilt steel spade hands, four subsidiary dials for month and leap year, day, date, moon phases, lunar calendar and constant seconds, massive circular case, covers centred by the engraved initials of the Ottoman Sultan Abdülhamid II to the front and date 1303 AH (1885 AD) to the back, bordered by laurel wreaths, repeating slide in the band, case stamped LA and numbered 12’144 and with casemakers initials MF for Meylan Frères, cuvette signed Breguet No. 3938 54 mm. diam. With copy of Louis Audemars’ original worksheet and excerpt from their books confirming that production of the present watch was launched on 11 June 1873. It was fitted with a gold case supplied by Meylan Frères and shipped to Audemars’ Paris depot on 11 February 1881. Inventory #19453
