Up for sale is a Van Cleef & Arpels Platinum and Diamond Art-Deco Watch with Seed Pearl Bracelet and Movement by Vacheron & Constantin, c. 1926. Signed hand stamped diamond set platinum case no. 9516 measures 22×15.5mm. Watch bezel and articulated lugs are fitted with round and baguette-cut diamonds, forming the appearance of a crown at each end of the case. Signed Van Cleef & Arpels silvered dial with black Roman numerals and blued steel hands. 18 jewel mechanical movement no. 402’036 signed by Vacheron and Constantin. Original seed pearl bracelet measures 140mm end to end, with a platinum and diamond Van Cleef and Arpels concealed clasp stamped 27491. In excellent vintage condition, setting complete throughout. This bracelet watch, formerly from Baron Eugene de Rothschildʼs daughter, Countess Adelaide Janina Zamoyska’s collection, is an exemplary piece of Art Deco jewelry. Its rarity is enhanced by the fact that it is complete and original throughout, and remains in excellent vintage condition. As is typical of the period, the case and bracelet were manufactured by Van Cleef & Arpels, while the movement was made by Vacheron & Constantin.
