Up for sale is a Cartier Gilt & lapis 8-day going square desk clock, c. 1940. Square-shaped, lapis surrounded by gold case. Champagne dial, engine-turned, luminous Roman numerals, outer minute track and luminous hands. Movement 55 mm., 15 jewels, 3 adjustments, straight-line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance, blued steel Breguet balance spring with terminal curve, index regulator. Dial and movement signed, movement and case numbered. Dim. 10.1 cm square. In very good vintage condition.
