Up for sale is a Geneva Clock Co. Art-Deco Temple of Buddha 8-day going table clock. No. 12871. Made in c. 1925. Very fine and rare in the Chinese style clock accompanied by the original fitted box. Case of temple form, carved lapis lazuli top and base, rock crystal pillars with silver-gilt and enamel capitals, surmounted by a carved rose-quartz figure of Buddha, square silver-gilt clock case with in-curved corners, blue champlevé enamel chapter ring with oriental-style black Arabic numerals. Mother of pearl dial, hand-painted with a charming river landscape view, signed in Chinese characters. Movement 19’’’, rhodium-plated, fausses cotes decoration, 15 jewels, straight line lever escapement, cut bimetallic compensation balance with 3 adjustments, blued steel Breguet balance spring, index regulator. Case and movement signed. Dim. 112 x 125 x 37 mm. In very good vintage condition.
